Nine charities receive 700 kilos of fish Carmen Day (16/07/2015)

The Fishermen held today Wednesday, July 16, the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors, and it has done this morning showing its solidarity face.

A year Cartagena fishermen tradition of donating met several batches of fish to various charities.

Moreover, given the improvement in the fisheries sector, the Brotherhood has donated 150 kilos more than last.

In total, we have donated 700 kilos of fish in the fish market of Santa Lucia, where anchovies, cod, hake, venus, mackerel and grouper is included. The pattern of the Brotherhood, Bartolomé Navarro said that this year the brotherhood donated 150 kilos more than last year because this year is better.

Even with two ships under the Cartagena fleet has grown at 4 tons and sales took 300,000 euros more than last year.

A delivery was also attended by the Councillor for Social Services and Social Mediation, Maria del Carmen Martín del Amor, who appreciated the solidarity of the Fishermen's Association. Nine charities receiving these lots of fish today, in particular, did the BDC, Charity Hospital de los Pinos, Nursing Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor, Torre Nazareth Sisters Cistencienses, Home Bethany Good Samaritan Social Dining , Dining Solidario Jesus, Master and Shepherd and Santa Teresa.

Acts by the Virgen del Carmen, culminate this afternoon with the traditional Mass at St. James Church in Santa Lucia, at 18.30 hours, and then the sea procession by boat from the port of Cartagena.

FISHERIES IMPROVEMENT
