Cartagena City Council has not yet given its approval to the activity license of a private parking Calblanque, due to lack of authorization from the Directorate General of Coasts and the report of the Directorate General of Cultural Assets, as reported sources of the Department of Planning and Infrastructure.

During this week, being a regulated event, the Department has reviewed the documents and environmental conditions, after a favorable report from the Directorate General of Environment of June 11, 2015, which pointed to the lack of negative conditions that impede the exercise of the alleged activity of temporary parking.

But once resolved these issues, we proceeded by technicians thoroughly test the urban and sectoral conditions which apply, and it was found that due to the location of car parks in bonded area of protection of the public domain shoreline, it is mandatory to have authorization from the Directorate General of Coasts of the Autonomous Community, which following a report by the Directorate General of Coasts of the Ministry of Environment is granted.

Similarly, one of the parking areas, which is called Calblanque parking, is located on part of the archaeological site Calblanque.

This implies the need to consult the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, though, it is not expected to make any terrain clearance operation, in which case it would have required archaeological intervention.

Thus, although from the area of responsibility of the municipality and the Directorate General of Environment there is no impediment to the exercise of the activity under certain conditions, the granting of an operating license is now conditioned to have sectoral authorizations Costs and Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Community.
