About 200 children enjoy the workshops of the Sea (01/07/2015)

The biweekly initiative has started today and will last throughout the month of July, where students perform different water activities.

Workshops Sea have begun this morning and will last throughout the month of July, where nearly 200 children between 6 and 17 years participate and enjoy various water sports such as sailing, kayaking, dragon bout, classes and workshops knots sailors, canoeing, etc.

The 200 students enrolled will participate in various activities such as sailing, rowing and swimming at the Club de Regatas de Cartagena. The hours are Monday through Friday from 08.30 to 14.30, adapted as possible also workday families .

The workshops offer two shifts, the first has started today and will last until July 15, and the second from 16 to 31 July.

The main objective is to provide young people about sports exploiting the potential of the port and the Club de Regatas of Cartagena.

The Councillor for Education has said that although these workshops existed before his arrival at City Hall, thoroughly examine the needs to improve for next year as the review of prices, the system of access to the places and the number of participating students in each activity due to the high demand for applications.

SUMMER SCHOOL FOR ALL TASTES

The Department of Education of the City of Cartagena has launched today until the end of July Summer School, where 350 children aged between 5 and 12 years participate.

They performed in seven public schools in the municipal area as the CEIP Mare Nostrum, CEIP Concepción Arenal, CEIP Beethoven (New Cartagena), CEIP Nuestra Señora de los Dolores (Los Dolores), CEIP Fernando Garrido Quarry, CEIP Azorín (Marfagones Mills) and CEIP San Isidoro (Algar).

They have also launched Summer School Driver Education where the contents developed are transmitted during the school year by the members of the local police in Cartagena on all schools in the port city, and takes place during the month of July and the first fortnight of August.

These schools are intended for children between 6 and 14 years.

Through this initiative, students will reinforce the acquired concepts of road safety education in the Park Driver Education of Cartagena in the morning where they acquire the necessary training as future users of bicycles and mopeds.

Summer School Driver Education are organized by the Department of Education and the Department of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena.

It is also necessary to highlight the start of Musical Colonies CEIP City Garden, which take place from Monday to Friday mornings and during the first half of July.

A total of 80 children between 4 and 17 years will approach to music and the performing arts, from a more playful than academic view.

To that end, this year the main theme will be the preparation of a musical, which will be performed for parents, families and the general public, on 15 July at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy.
