The National Police presented the 2015 Tourism Plan sure Hostec (23/06/2015)

As every year, the Interior Ministry launched, in the summer, this plan to increase public safety of tourists.

The Plan entails greater uniformed police presence in the resort areas and a number of useful tips for tourists.

The National Police delivered yesterday in the association of hoteliers in Cartagena, Hostec, advertising issued by the Ministry of the Interior on the implementation of the 2015 Tourism Security Plan, in addition to information on the concrete measures to be transmitted its partners in this summer period.

Specifically, the Plan aims mentioned:

Permanently increase public safety in tourist areas and provide a safer environment for tourists during their stay in our country.

It also aims to support and actively contribute to the activities in the sector by the Government of Spain and the Regional and Local Authorities;

also it aims to promote the Spanish tourism sector and cooperate in achieving a higher degree of competitiveness and cooperation between all public and private institutions involved in the tourism sector.

General objectives:

- Provide a safe environment for tourists during their stay and travel by Spain.

- Supporting actions and actively deployed in the sector by the Government and the Regional and Local Authorities contribute.

- Support the Spanish tourism sector and cooperate in achieving a higher degree of competitiveness thereof.

- Cooperate in social responsibility among all public and private institutions involved in the sector, while contributing to preserving the environment and the environment.

To achieve the overall objectives are to develop the following:

- Progress in preventing the commission of crimes in which the victim has the status of tourist.

Increase public safety in those areas and places of greatest risk to the safety of tourists.

Provide tourist information on the safety measures to be taken to avoid becoming a victim.

- Improve the planning and execution of police measures to combat crime in tourist areas.

- Improve the quality in the service.

Improve care for the foreign tourists through the generalization of figures like Tourist Service Overseas (SATE), facilitating the provision of interpreters, and communication with consulates, embassies and country of origin.

Respond more quickly and effectively to those affected by the commission of criminal acts, perfecting the procedures for receiving complaints.

- Encourage collaboration and coordination with the authorities and public and private institutions in the tourism sector.

- Promote studies and collection of information on security issues affecting the tourism sector.

SERVICE OFFICES OF FOREIGN TOURISTS (SATE)

The Ministry of State Security, through the Government Delegations will promote, together with local authorities in those localities that receive large numbers of tourists, creating offices Service Foreign Tourist Assistance (SATE), to offer them a personalized assistance, after being the victim of any criminal offense, by a team of police and informers performers experts in their own language.

SATE general functions are:

- Addressing the victims of crimes or offenses, in their own language, advising them on the procedural steps and documentaries, derived from fact occurred (canceling credit cards and documents, contact embassies and consulates, media or location of family, etc. )

- To assist the tourist in the handling of the complaint of a crime or misdemeanor, informing of their rights and giving the citation for the celebration of the Speedy Trial or Trial Immediate Fouls where appropriate.

- Report immediately to the police court way, those cases in which, by virtue of Article 797, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Procedure Act, out of reasonable fear that a test can not be performed on trial.
