The Oscar-winning UPCT says that "the key to success is the imagination and motivate you to do what" (13/05/2015)

"The key to success is the imagination and motivate you to do something."

With these words the founder of the software company Next Limit, Victor Gonzalez, awarded in 2008 with a Technical Oscar thanks to Real Flow program of special effects, has encouraged students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) to defend their ideas.

Gonzalez this morning visited the Student House, where he delivered a lecture on the occasion of the award of the first technology-based competition organized by the IEEE-UPCT Association.

17 years ago the marine engineer Victor Gonzalez decided to create software company Next Limit with his partner Ignacio Vargas.

"We liked much the special effects, the simulation program and thought about creating a first prototype called Real Flow that was to bring the world of fluids to the movies," he says.

Nearly two decades have passed since then and the two engineers already have a staff of 60 workers.

"With perseverance and hope all is accomplished," said Gonzalez satisfied.

After the launch of Real Flow and given the great reception that took the first, the creators decided to launch Next Limit and present their project to the technical category of the Oscars.

Gonzalez points out that the delivery of these awards is done in a different delivery of film awards gala.

"We introduced in 2005, but no success.

We improve the product and we tried again in 2008, which was when we got the prize.

Gala is different to what we're used to seeing Awards, as in this work must be submitted to a committee of experts "he says.

Before his speech, he warned that it will be "very realistic" and it is "important" for him teach college and young people in general, that "success will not come from what they are told at school or in college, but you have to have ideas and test them to see if they work. "

Praised initiatives such as the Technology-Based Competition organized within UPCT because "the key to success is not about winning or losing a competition, but to be in the loop.

Many ideas have failed prize competitions and how many have been without reward after successful.

If you do not win do not have to get depressed, but keep fighting and defending the idea that you think is good, "he says.

And once you have a good idea, he says that is when you can put up a company.

"Starting a business is very self, is a point on the road you do not know how you get out, but it's a big step," he says.

And once the company evolves and staff increases "You have to decide if you want to continue programming as before or have to reconvertirte a manager and if you're lucky enough to make everything work, the payoff is very rewarding."
