Civil Protection volunteers this summer preparing for (11/05/2015)

Complementing the basic training of Civil Defence volunteers, the School of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena, ESPAC imparts May 10 to June 7 Course Specialist lifeguards Beaches, in order to teach them the different techniques Search and Rescue in the aquatic environment.

The course, which lasts 100 hours (20 online and 80 contact hours, both theory and practice hours) attended by 43 volunteers.

This training, like the previous ones, is done in coordination with the General Directorate of Emergency Region of Murcia, highlighting, among the subjects to be taught the following:

- Definition of SOS Aquatic.

- Functions of a SOS Aquatic.

Major missions.

- Working as a lifeguard.

Definitions.

- Statistics.

- Risk Management.

Own Safety.

- Training Surf.

Wave types.

- Scale Douglas.

- Tides.

Coastal breezes.

Wind sea and swell.

- Return Corrientes.

Location and Identification.

Getting away from them.

- Monitoring and Scanning.

Static and dynamic.

- Communications.

ICAO code.

Emergency procedure.

- Basic Components of a ransom.
