Low unemployment in April for the second consecutive Cartagena (05/05/2015)

The number of unemployed fell in Cartagena 359 people last April, as reported by the Councillor for Employment, Joaquín Mowing, for whom these figures are pointing to a recovery trend on the figures that left the worst of the crisis, in February two years ago. In Cartagena there are now 2,417 fewer unemployed since 2013 and encourages us to continue working to further our opportunities becoming more jobs.

Although the largest drop occurred in the service sector, with 173 fewer unemployed, the biggest percentage drops were recorded in industry and construction.

Mowing has stressed that since the crisis bottomed unemployment has fallen in all sectors, but it has done with particular strength in areas of structural significance, as industry and construction, which have a 16 and 26% less unemployed respectively from February 2013.

The council has said that the increased demand for employment is in the services industry, but pointed out that it is precisely the sector with the greatest potential and he is called to further growth with new projects underway and opportunities job opening with the consolidation of the cruise industry and Cartagena next connection with the high-speed rail.
