The use of social networks in emergencies (28/04/2015)

The Directorate General of Public Safety and Emergency Region of Murcia and the Service for Fire Fighting and Rescue and Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena, in collaboration with VOST Murcia (Digital Volunteer Emergency Murcia) have organized I Technical Seminar Emergency Communication Social Media in the Region of Murcia to be held on Wednesday, April 29 in the auditorium of the Museum of the Roman Theatre.

Social networks have become a working tool for emergency teams.

With these public warnings are released, self-protection advice is given, are reported to be quiet it gives confidence to citizens. But its use is not always done in the proper way or not appropriate protocols are known in depth to act in an emergency or launch a public warning.

This event will be the first time that various institutions throughout the Region emergencies appointment to learn from the experiences of other colleagues and get a conclusion to lay the foundations for protocols to various emergencies occur.

The program will start at nine in the morning with the welcome by the council Public Safety of the City of Cartagena, Mariano García Asensio, and the opening by the Director General of Public Safety and Emergency of the Autonomous Community of Murcia Luis Gestoso.

There will be three tables in which the general concepts of institutions and the media in the social networks will be addressed;

another on emergency services in social networks;

and a third on the management of responsible communication.
