UCAM organizes in collaboration with the City and the Autonomous Community

The port city will host two championships in Spain organized by the UCAM University in collaboration with the Department of Sports City of Cartagena and the Autonomous Community.

This is the Athletics Championships, to be held from 28 to 30 April at the Municipal Athletics Track, and Table Tennis from 11 to 13 May in Hall of Barrio Peral.

Two separate events were presented Friday by the mayor of Sports, Diego Ortega, the director general of Sports of the Autonomous Community, Antonio Peñalver, and the CEO of Sports of the UCAM, Paul Rosique.

The latter stated that it was logical choice Cartagena to hold both championships, given the trajectory of the UCAM clubs in both sports disciplines here, to which must be added the collaboration that always pays the council.

Both the Athletics Championship and the table tennis, attend sports ringside.

Specifically, the first involving about 400 runners are expected, a dozen of them Olympic and many international, who will try to defend their titles.

As for table tennis players will come a hundred.

All this will mean a significant flow of people who visit our city during those days.

For Antonio Peñalver, the council has done a sprint in recent years on a solid track record in relation to the organization of major sporting events, generating a movement that has become an economic engine that is causing the hospitality industry and business associates leave recovering.

Question is where has deepened the Councillor for Sports, who claimed that no one can ignore that Cartagena has become a place to come see museums, visit the heritage, taste our food and for some time, enjoy great sports events.
