The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning and the Fishermen's Association of Cartagena organized a charity auction of fish next Saturday, April 25, at 11:30 am at the Lonja de Cabo de Palos, whose full collection will be delivered to Caritas, as announced today by the Minister, Francisco Bernabé, director of Caritas, José Saura, and the largest employer, Bartolomé Navarro.

Barnabas explained that "is an initiative arising agreement between the Ministry of Development and the Fishermen's Association of Cartagena, but especially the desire to contribute in some way to the great work done by Caritas with those most in need."

The fish auction is held at the Lonja de Cabo de Palos, located at the mouth of the harbor, "which for 23 years did not welcome this activity and will be a public event that any citizen can attend to bid and get one of lots of fish, whose weight will range between one and two kilos, "said the head of Development.

All fish that will be auctioned, some 100 kilos, will be provided free by the Fishermen's Association of Cartagena, and the auction will take place in the traditional way, orally and through a procedure called Dutch auction, which is part a high price and it is reduced until a buyer stops the auction.

Currently used in fish markets telematics systems.

Based on preliminary estimates, the amount to be collected on this auction may be around 3,000 euros.
