150 Anniversary Regatta Faro de Cabo de Palos (16/03/2015)

Councillor for Tourism, Palazón Carolina has been responsible for leading the press conference of presentation of the commemorative race 150 years the lighthouse of Cabo de Palos and the marine reserve is 20 years old. Among the attendees, also was the Councillor for Sports, Diego Nettle.

The president of the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena, Miguel à ngel Celdrán, has shown the importance of the commemoration of this event and says Cabo de Palos has been for him and many others a milestone in their lives.

Cristina Aguado, president of the Neighborhood Association of Cabo de Palos, presented some details of the schedule to be published next week.

It will be a varied program designed for families, which begins this weekend, 21 and 22 or marz, and ends on August 14 leveraging the village festivals.

This weekend, they will begin activities with the Regatta optimist, the last test-acting representatives of the region in the championship and cup Spain.

This initiative created with the aim of moving to child athletes in the nearby territory, which has great conditions.

The event will feature more than 100 participants from childhood sailing, from 8 to 15 years.

A total of 170 boats are expected, and October is to reach 200.

Almost 50 percent of the fleet is the Club de Regatas de Cartagena, the maximum fleet race with 25 children and 3 technicians.

Technical place on the water has many questions, because the weather presents a difficult climate with low temperatures, heavy rain and winds near 30 knots from the east to condition the sea.
