The National Police and prevents fraud SEPE 650,000 euros to the Social Security (06/03/2015)

All involved have had to repay the sums unduly paid.

In the police operation have been arrested six foreign nationals by various judicial requisitions and for violating the Immigration Act.

During the last few months have been developed by the National Police, in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, various actions to prevent unauthorized access to collections and unemployment benefits.

These actions were carried out at the offices of the Public Service of Employment (SEPS), former INEM, several municipalities in the Campo de Cartagena, specifically in Torre Pacheco, San Javier, Cartagena and Mazarrón, being controlled around a thousand people various nationalities, both Spanish and foreign.

Thanks to these joint actions, once made the necessary arrangements and individualized checks on absences in Spain, identity theft and truancy to subpoenas;

and custom made to the beneficiaries in the course of checks carried out interviews, it was possible to detect and prevent fraud to the state coffers that far exceeds six hundred fifty thousand euros.

The beneficiaries of those services are now obligated to reimburse the amounts unduly paid because otherwise can not access in the future to new benefits or the benefits of the social security system.

Similarly, following inspections were arrested six foreign nationals, therefore have concerned police or judicial requisitions, for violations of the Immigration Act.

The operation was jointly conducted by officers of the Local Immigration and Border Brigade and the Public Service of Employment of Cartagena, Torre Pacheco, San Javier and Mazarrón.
