La Vela stars the weekend in Cartagena (23/02/2015)

Saturday saw the Sports Gala de la Vela in the Region of Murcia, with under Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena.

In the event, the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia and the Spanish Olympic Committee awarded prizes by the sporting career of Murcia sailors in 2014. They were rewarded seven athletes from Cartagena club.

The gala was chaired by Councilman Sports City of Cartagena, Diego Ortega, accompanied by the presidents Blas Isaac, NC Portman, Damián Martínez, CN Mar Menor, Francisco Ginés, RCR Santiago de la Ribera, José Mª García-Carreño, CN Los Nietos, Diego Varela, CN Santa Lucia and Miguel à ngel Celdrán of RCR Cartagena.

For those attending included the presence of Diego Lopez, Chief AECIO Optimist Murcia Spain, Jose Perez, secretary of the Snipe class in the region, accompanied by Ginés Rodríguez, plus Santiago López, member of the Royal Dinghy Sailing Club Regatta Cartagena, accompanied by teams of Cartagena Laser and Optimist club.

On delivery stressed the Spanish Olympic Committee medal for Antonio López for their results in the Optimist class, highlighting a European Team Championship, in addition to the victory in the Optimist Excellence Cup and other titles in national championships and cup.

The Cartagena is located in these concentrated in the Laser 4.7 class now.

The plates issued by the federal agency went to Carlos Soto and Gregory Belmonte, distinguished by the runners-Snipe Cup Spain, José María Coello and Populations championship Cup Spain Snipe Master, while very young Lola and Carmen Coello received the plaque after the silver medal in the women's category have hung in class l-Equipe in Europe from Italy and bronze in the cup of Spain.

Among the winners, said Carlos Martinez with an extensive and brilliant record; Juanma Alberto Barrionuevo and Fructuoso who received the plates of the FVRM for excellent sporting career.

The event ended with the recognition of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia, through its president Pedro Román, the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena and its president Miguel à ngel Celdrán for his life, dedication and effort in promoting sailing in the region.

Sails Sails Trophy Elite

This weekend the first race of Act II of Regularity for Snipe was disputed, the

Elite Sails Sails Trophy, organized by the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena.

Elite Sails Sails Trophy after Saturday's results, is presented to the crew of Carlos Soto and Gregory Belmonte (SRG Candles Elite Team), thanks to the two partial victories.

With numbers that confirm the good time both in the classroom, with three tight and two sterns.

The second place trophy went to Hector Lopez and Magda Palacios (Lopi VI), which were the ones who came to trouble Soto and Belmonte during the day.

Third place was taken away and José Luis Soto Gomez-Vizcaino (SRG Candles Elite Team), with a quarter and a third in the partial.

Jose and Javier Coello (SRG Elite Sailing Team), ranked fourth place overall, although they had a good start after signing a third in the first round, then punctured with a sixth.

In fifth place Malaga-milillense tandem of Iorn Make and Ignacio Cano placed.
