The UPCT is provided with a code of ethics and Transparency Portal (16/12/2014)

The Governing Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena Monday approved an ethical code, a reference document for the operation of the institution and the attitude and behavior of its members, while ratified the accession of the UPCT the Pact for Transparency Region of Murcia.

The ethical code has been developed over this year by the Chair Culture and Ethics Directors and Company, directed by Professor Ignacio Segado, through working groups and interviews with representatives of various university bodies and with the collaboration of professors UMU ethics and UPV and external supervision of the Foundation for business ethics and organizations (ÉTNOR).

The approved document includes a list of seven benchmarks for good ethical climate of the organization (engagement, dialogue, honesty, respect, professional responsibility, teamwork and transparency) and lists examples of good practice in the conduct of its activities, both for students, teachers and administrative staff and services, including efficient use of public resources, accountability, compliance with deadlines, thoroughness, defending the interests and image of the university, accept constructive criticism, not to confuse the rivalry with enmity and not accept gifts that calls into question the impartiality.

In the same vein, the Governing Council ratified the accession of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena Pact for Transparency in the Region of Murcia, a week after it was released on the website of the UPCT the Transparency Portal, which displays all the institutional, legal, statistical, economic and academic information of the entity.
