The origins and urban transformation of Barrio de Peral in a book (10/12/2014)

On Friday, December 12, the book "Barrio de Peral (Cartagena). Origins and Urban Transformation" which will be borne by its author, Javier Olmos Máñez be presented.

It is an urban study from the beginning, when I was just a few houses, until the Barrio de Peral know today practically formed.

The book was edited by the Neighborhood Association, in collaboration with the City of Cartagena, within the commemoration of the 125th anniversary of its name in honor of Isaac Peral.

The author develops in the work of housing typology to understand the different social classes in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century formed the Barrio de Peral

The event, which will be attended by Councilman Consumption and Neighborhood Relations, Alonso Gómez, and the president of the Neighborhood Association, Eduardo Martínez, will run from 12 pm in the auditorium of the Military History Museum of Ancient Artillery.

Admission is free, first-served.

The December 21, 1889, the full City Council of Cartagena, to the successes of the marine Isaac Peral, agreed to change the name of the popular village of Mill, formerly known as the Molinos de Ribera to its current name of Barrio de Peral.

The edition of this work will contribute to understand when, how and why of what is now Barrio de Peral.
