Digital professions attract many students UPCT the Open Day of Red.es (13/11/2014)

The salon degrees Technician School of Telecommunication Engineering (ETSIT) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena has been the main venue for the Open Day dedicated to digital professions, organized by Red.es public entity of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, in cooperation with the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities and Pust.

In it, teachers from different departments of the University have outlined the main advantages of time and communication technologies, especially audiovisual tools for teaching, learning and entrepreneurship, among others.

The Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Communications, Juan Luis Pedroza, has been commissioned to inaugurate this initiative, highlighting the bet UPCT for teaching innovation in technology.

In this regard, he highlighted the launch of the Centre for Audiovisual Content Production, located in the ELDI building, and its portfolio of services to the university community and are the Polimedia, Recording, Post Production, Sound Editing and E- Learning.

He also highlighted the section on R & D, consisting of laboratories for project development, and production, where and audiovisual works are made to entities such as the City of Cartagena.

Pedroza has also pointed out that the momentum is giving UPCT 4K technology, super high-definition audiovisual, and advanced that soon "is going to work with RTVE for research and development projects in 4K."

One of the papers from which he has made the journey has been focused on the experiences that some university professors are leading on the implementation of visual communication tools in their methodologies.

Professor Antonio Garrido has been defined as an advocate for this type of progress, indicating the need for greater commitment to online courses and simulation in the future.

The conference about digital professions has also hosted a presentation in which lines reported funding for students and graduates have available for the development of projects in this field, and has been attended by graduates UPCT who have shown their successes in launching start-ups related to technology and digital content.

Finally, he concluded with a visit to the different rooms of the Centre for Digital Content Production, led by its director and the Vice Chancellor Manuel Abrisquesta Juan Luis Pedroza.
