With the economic crisis The Huertecica serves up to 4% of drug addicts in their task of rehabilitation and social reintegration in different centers that exist in the region. The head of the Huertecica and stencil Day Center of Santa Ana, received today the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Catherine Lawrence, Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, who knew these facilities first hand.

In the last nine months have been addressed about 400 people at the centers of Cartagena and Murcia working with drug addicts living on the street, and it advises them on disease prevention.

For his part, the Minister stressed that the Huertecia receives the Autonomous Community a grant of more than 700,000 euros for the maintenance of its centers in the region, plus about 120,000 euros from the IMAS (Instituto Murciano Social Action) for training courses attesting to their qualifications, and the aid it receives from the European Union.
