The contemporary sneaks with Perpetual Fire in the Roman Theater (29/10/2014)

Old and contemporary cited these months on one stage and the Roman Theatre Museum will host from November 20 the roadshow Perpetual Fire. So the Roman era and the art coexist in this space, with the city Cartagena pioneer in this collection show as part of the ICA, the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts.

The exhibition will be at the Museum until January 19, is part of Project Routes organized by the ICA and the longer part Cartagena, one of the first cities in the region to join.

It is about 14 exhibitions showing different parts of this collection.

The former have been shown to the public have been through Puerto Lumbreras, Eyes and Murcia, but this one, Perpetual Fire, will be released in Cartagena.

The exhibition presents four strategic review of artists represented in the collection ICA, the production shares and poetic ways of doing common root.

The mythical vision of fire, smoke, ash, and riddles and metaphors that locks are addressed through the tools of Contemporary Art. Anton Lamazares Javier Pividal, Nico Munuera and Pep Llambía pose speeches on the ephemeral nature of existence, a melancholy view of life and love burning drive.

The historical context in which this sample and the very presence of Roman architecture in the room while the connotes gives it an exceptional character develops.

The actual scenery establishes a relationship between the practices and understanding of the ancient world and those found in contemporary times.

ARTISTS

Javier Pividal through a series of drawings of mist gathers anonymous guy who builds his presence through levity.

Based on the disappearance, we clearly set small incisions on paper, clouds of smoke and mists indeterminate result in a ghostly silhouette metaphor for fragility.

Nico Munuera Redblue and Gold unfolds in the imagination that runs through all his work.

Horizons ambiguous struggle between abstraction and figuration generated subjective temporal landscapes, in which the time of twilight is confused with an ambiguous dawn.

The presence of latent and vibrant warmth hides a warm fire fades.

The timing of the gesture in the execution of the work also serves as a paradigm for a while both subjective and universal, the time it puts man in relation to things.

Pep Llambía Brume addresses in his iconic motifs representing myths.

One wing deployed swan stands as a powerful metaphor both expiration and the collected eroticism of ancient Greece through their gods.

Like a painter of still lifes it were, his work reflects his power and technical perfection, an exuberance that stuns no compositional austerity and simplicity.

Jarabo is the title of the work of Anton Lamazares.

This is a monumental and incomprehensible piece in which the entire surface appears to have been burned with the tricks of pictorial representation.

A central flame illuminates the darkness raised by this work, icon ashing and evocative images that involves the presence of a hypnotic destruction.

This exhibition allows you to enter in a context focused on the enhancement of the findings of the ancient culture radically contemporary works, encouraging a clash of aesthetics that enhance mutual understanding of cultural phenomena away by time but with common bonds. It is the enhancement of our contemporary artists with inherited assets from our ancestors.
