Councilman Decentralization and Health, Ángel Nicolás Bernal, participate on Saturday, October 4, at the official opening of the seventh Congress of the Society of Rheumatology Murcia, whose sessions have already started on Friday at the premises of the Polytechnic University Cartagena in the old CIM.

The opening ceremony will take place at 8:45 am.

The conference brings together fifty experts will present the latest news and experiences Pediatric Rheumatology Unit of the region, created in 2012.

According to Murcia Society of Rheumatology, more than 300,000 people suffer rheumatic disease in Murcia, and a high percentage are children, which led to create that specializes in the condition in lower unit.

The unit features a rheumatologist, and a pediatrician who will tell their experience during these two years, as well as the future prospects of the unit, located in the hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca of Murcia.

Among the new congress also is presenting a book that includes over 60 clinical cases developed by twenty different authors that aims to help Demedicina students and resident physicians to address these pathologies, as there is little literature in Spanish on the subject.

The conference involved physicians of all rheumatology units of hospitals in the region and will serve to show the newest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of various rheumatic diseases, and different groups of hospital work will present their research in improving the care of patients with psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Another central theme of the congress will be the onset of osteoporosis when certain medications, such as the treatment of prostate or breast cancer and how to treat osteoporosis patients with longstanding taken.

Finally, issues such as early treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and lupus treatment s early phase of the disease will be addressed.
