170 children start school today bilingual summer UPCT-Cole (23/06/2014)

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) today launched its summer school for children, called 'UPCT-Cole' that will offer fun and educational activities for 170 children for the rest of June and July on schedule from 8:00 to 15:00 Monday to Friday.

Infant School Polytechnic develops on the ground floor of the former administrative building of City Hall, located at Calle Sor Francisca Armendáriz.

In this second year of the UPCT-Cole in this house, the enrollment of children has increased by 33%.

The ground floor of this property is enabled and last year to host the Summer Infant School, eliminating the old partitioning and constructing several classrooms with a total area of ​​300 square meters.

This year has enabled a new space for children's workshops.

The building has new lighting installations, electricity and air conditioning.

These classrooms and spaces are used to develop recreational and educational activities that aim to motivate children between 2 and 16 years to participate in learning through fun activities during the summer.

Each week, the school will enhance the learning of a subject related to health education, environmental, moral and civic peace, driver education, education in science, new technologies and communication, multiculturalism and culture of the region .

New this year UPCT-Cole is bilingual, so the monitors are aimed at children in both Castilian and English, during playgroups, to strengthen their skills in both languages, with a methodology based on the immersion.

Among the activities, children also go to the nearby Pavilion Urban to perform sports.
