Javier Cercas closes the cycle of meetings Mandarache Award (04/03/2014)

Javier Cercas is the latest candidate to writers and Hache Mandarache Cartagena Awards 2014 visit to present his work to the hundreds of readers who make up the jury for these awards.

On Wednesday 5th March at 20.00 h the author will present the border laws (Mondadori, 2012) at the headquarters of the Foundation in Cartagena Cajamurcia in a meeting with university students, members of book clubs and larger public.

On Thursday 6 will start early with a visit to IES San Isidoro at 8.15 pm where he will speak to students, will continue with a meeting with the press at 10am in the Boardroom UPCT (Sea Wall) and finally keep the traditional meeting with 600 high school students at 11.00 pm in the auditorium of the UPCT.

Javier Cercas, author of the celebrated novel Soldiers of Salamis (2001), is one of the most important writers of the current literature and has received numerous international awards for his work, and the National Fiction Prize in 2010 for the essay-novel Anatomy of a Moment (2009).

After the visit in February Pedro Ruiz García, who closed meetings Hache Award, and Javier Cercas, which closes Mandarache, the period of deliberation of the 4,500 young readers involved as these democratic jury awards officially opens literary.

At this stage the reader should complete the reading of books finalists to exercise their right to vote during the week of voting, which will be from March 31 to April 3.
