The Entrepreneurial Initiatives Program Cartagena has established itself as a reference in the creation of innovative companies (26/02/2014)

Notable projects that develop a technology that offers a new product and improving existing products or services

The 'Entrepreneurial Initiatives Program', which jointly developed the Ministry of Industry, Enterprise and Innovation, through the Instituto de Fomento (Info), and the Regional Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena (COEC), reached this year the seventeenth edition turned into "a performance benchmark in the regional entrepreneurial environment," according to the Minister José Ballesta.

The Minister of Industry, Enterprise and Innovation and COEC president, Pedro Pablo Hernández, today provided details on the call this year, starting to walk on 12 March, and recalled the essence.

"This is a training program that focuses on the skills of entrepreneurs so they can implement innovative business projects diminishing the inherent implementation of the same risks," specified Ballesta.

The dynamics is eminently practical: each participating entrepreneurs is shaping the business plan of your business idea, in order to verify the feasibility, and therefore has products with expert consultants who advise and supervise sessions the successful completion of the same, with particular emphasis on the business model, market analysis, marketing strategies, technological 'coaching', the operational and organizational plan, constitution and taxation and financial analysis and economic viability.

This work is complemented by workshops which aim to train future entrepreneurs materials which increase their competitiveness, and innovation in business, ICT and cloud the legal structure of the company, among others.

In last year's 11 projects have materialized as a company, with a figure of 340,000 euros investment and the creation of 27 jobs.

In addition, 17 projects initiative culminated with the development of the business plan.

400 projects in 16 years

Also, in the 16 years of the 'Entrepreneurial Initiatives Program' are about 400 business projects that have benefited from training and entrepreneurial consultancy, which has resulted in the creation of 140 companies and represents 48 percent projects.

Moreover, in the last four years, the rate of projects after completing the Business Plan are constituted as company has risen to 65 percent.

Companies created have generated an initial investment of 9.6 million euros and creating about 400 jobs.

SMEs implemented include activities to develop an innovative component very sharp, allowing them, despite their small initial size, differentiate from competition, positioned in holes specialized market and retain their customers.

These features allow them to achieve indices much higher than the market average survival because after three years companies generated from this program achieved a survival rate of 74 percent.

As to the source of innovation, highlight, with 41 percent each, the projects developed some technology that allows them to offer a new product and improving existing products or services.

In this year's edition will be selected up to 20 projects, and for that we will consider those who meet more innovative and demonstrate a greater consistency of the proposed business upon the possibilities of its implementation as company.
