There are still a few months to Easter, but Procesionista Cartagena Year Association has organized various activities such as snack processions this year will go on the road from 11 to 20 April.
Conferences, lectures, debates and of course, the proclamation of this Procesionista 2014.
The president of this Association, Santiago Diaz, this morning visited the mayor, Pilar Barreiro, in the Town Hall to present the program of activities which have prepared.
The meeting was also attended by the members of the executive Antonio Adolfo Calvo and José Arroyo and the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero.
A significant and essential event is the election of the Year Award Procesionista.
The deadline for proposals is open until March 3, which will be the day when the new winner is chosen at a ceremony in the halls of the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country, located on Calle del Aire.
The Basilica of Charity celebrate Mass on March 8 in which the medal elected shall be imposed. It will be on April 4, a few days before Easter, when developing an official ceremony at the Palace Hall proclaiming the Procesionista the Year.
To date there have been to this call four candidates will compete for this popular recognition. Do not mind being in a fraternity or another, but the love for the Holy Week that has that person, clarified the President of this Association this morning.
Besides the award as such, the Association also organizes other related cartagenera Holy Week, as of March 12 activities.
This is the conference's armaos Easter in Cartagena, given by Francisco Minguez, journalist and general curator of Makos.
On March 24, a panel discussion entitled The portapasos cartagenera Holy Week, moderated by the Rev. Ricardo Alba and the overseers of the brotherhoods is performed.
March 27 will be held the conference La Virgen de la Caridad, one cartagenera devotion given by Gines Fernandez, Colonel Controller of the Navy.
Finally, on April 7 conference is organized Apostolic Exhortation.
