The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) today received the visit of the Minister of Education, Employment and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the city's mayor, Pilar Barreiro, who have traveled and facilities have met the new Laboratory Building , Teaching and Research by the governing team.
During the visit, he has released the Laboratory Building, Teaching and Research (ELDI), a new building that will serve to "structure the system of science and technology, expanding the transfer companies added value to be more competitive and this is in more employment and social cohesion in the region ", as noted by the rector of the UPCT, Jose Antonio Franco.
The Minister of Education, Employment and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, considered "great facilities and aims" and praised the "outstanding work" of the Technical University of Cartagena.
The mayor of the city, meanwhile, said that the new building "deserves a great owner" to boost research, for which "quality, quantity and potency UPCT vitality of an urban, university differentiated and complementary measures , as evidenced by the Campus Mare Nostrum ", he noted.
The heavy ELDI laboratories were housed in industrial buildings, new labs I + D + i, the future center of digital content, the area of ​​Infrastructure and Sustainability Network Chairs and a business center, which will bring research companies.
The property, located on the campus of the wall next to the Plaza de Toros and the Student House on Boulevard of the university district, has 13,500 square feet on two buildings, three and four floors, shared basement and ground floor .
The work, which began in January 2012, are funded by 70% for three million of ERDF funds for contributions of the Autonomous Community and UPCT own resources.
The visit included ELDI addition, the building of I + D + i, library Campus Muralla del Mar, the Student House and the Rectory.
