Pozo Strait takes its Cultural Center (27/01/2014)

The Cultural Center Pozo Strait has opened its doors after the opening last Saturday.

So taken for completion of the works of a modern infrastructure designed to house the School of Music Society Artistic Musical Santa Cecilia.

The mayor, Pilar Barreiro, who presided over the ceremony attended most of his municipal team.

More than a hundred residents gathered last Saturday to see firsthand how the new building had been turned into music school.

During the ceremony, a commemorative plaque and the mayor, along with the rest of the corporation was discovered, made ​​a tour of the facilities of the new center.

The mayor delivered a speech before the gathered there in the audition room to highlight the importance of this infrastructure in the musical tradition of Pozo Strait.

Who also stressed the importance involved in this center was the president of the Musical Arts Society Santa Cecilia, José Pedroza, who also addressed attendees.

After the speeches, it was his turn to music with a concert of this band.

The building has been a greater than 1.3 billion investment.

Precisely the economic pillar and the will of the residents of the facilities were adequate in the future to accommodate a music conservatory, has made the project has had to undertake over several years, according to the budgetary possibilities Hall, and the Autonomous Community has contributed some 500 thousand euros.

FACILITY CENTER

The new building is located in a municipal plot of 2,155 square meters, fenced around its perimeter.

It consists of two modules with an area of ​​1,150 square meters: the first one is the rehearsal room, one floor and 200 square meters, which is accessed from within the plot.

The other module, 850 square meters, is where other units on two levels: as are 16 classrooms teaching instrumental soundproof, a staff room, secretarial, library, library, stores, reception and toilets.

This module is the main entrance to the building through a porch, on which it has designed a large window, with vinyl specially decorated to give light and color into the building.

The user of these facilities will be the century Santa Cecilia Musical Arts Society, the oldest band music of the region, created in 1893 and awarded the Gold Medal Cartagena.La Santa Cecilia music school currently has with more than a hundred students, Pozo Strait and neighboring towns, and whose musical education teachers conducting 11.

In addition to the titular band with 50 musicians, the Santa Cecilia SAM has another children's band, in which the learner integrate and musicians under 14.
