Orange weather alert for Saturday night and Sunday morning (30/11/2013)

The Emergency Coordination Center Autonomous Community has set the orange weather alert in the Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón for tonight Saturday and Sunday morning, during which the Meteorological Agency provided that produce strong winds, accompanied by heavy rain and very rough seas on the coast.

Specifically, the alert will begin at midnight and last until ten o'clock Sunday morning.

In this time interval north winds are expected with intervals of strength 8 and very thick sea.

In the Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón is expected accumulated 12 hours of 60 liters per square meter and wind gusts that can reach up to 70 kilometers per hour rainfall record.

Emergency services in the city of Cartagena, among which are Fire, Civil Protection and local police have been alerted to the situation and are on the lookout, reminding citizens precautions to be taken in case of wind and rain: as properly secure external elements such as awnings or removing pots from windows, and check the status of Desaga ¼ is and downspouts or avoiding car wading through the channel of a watercourse.

It is also recommended not to go sailing.

At present, in the Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón, the alert is yellow for coastal phenomena, with north winds of force 2-3, raging in the morning and west to southwest force 4-5, and finally to North rolando hard 5-7.
