Excursion to the Rambla del Canar with Implica2 Program (27/11/2013)

The Implica2 Program the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena organized for this s aturday November 30 u na trip to the Rambla del Canar, framed within the Youth Activities Workshop on Environmental Education for Conservation of Tallante Garbancillo.

The initiative is free and the output is scheduled for 08.30 hours from the Youth Resource Center of Cartagena.

The route starts at the Rambla (Hill of the Cross), ending at the treatment plant (Greenhouse-isla Plana), an affordable trip of about 4 hours and about 10 miles away.

Rainfed crops such as almond or fig trees, the chapel in which we celebrate the traditional pilgrimage Canar the first Sunday of January, or Peñas Blancas, with its 629 meters is the highest peak that hikers can climb a mountain in Cartagena, are some of the prints that characterize this place and participants will enjoy.

As the gully narrows there is a spring of water with abundant vegetation such as pines, poplars, cypresses and oaks, as well as remains of the ancient Mediterranean forest. The wadi bed is gravel and sand, indicating the forces of avenues, while just before reaching the destination Horse Cave, where remains have been found of a ocupamiento late Paleolithic currency.

The workshop activities for the conservation of Garbancillo Tallante is in collaboration with the Regional School of Animation and Recreation, School of Leisure Maraqua, the Ludote-k The courtyard of my house and UPCT and is funded by the Project European LIFE11 BIO/ES/727.
