Prospective volunteers are prepared in Cartagena UPCT (20/11/2013)

The basic training course, organized by the city of Cartagena and inaugurated by the Social Care Councillor, faces this afternoon his last day in the Graduate Hall particiapción UPCT with a hundred people

Around a hundred people are prepared at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) to become real volunteers in the basic training course yesterday, Tuesday November 19, is taught in the Graduate Hall University. This action is organized by the city of Cartagena, through the Municipal Volunteer Program.

The Social Care Councillor, Antonio Calderon, attended the opening of the same and emphasized in his speech the importance of coordination between different administrations to develop joint projects and more effective action against the most vulnerable.

For his part, the Vice Chancellor for Student and University Extension, Francisco Martinez, highlighted the role of UPCT in the field of volunteering. Offer comprehensive training activity in which they acquire skills and personal development, as well as practices.

The course is not only useful for those interested in doing volunteer projects but also provides useful tools in many aspects of life, both in the academic and professional career, said the rector.

There are two days of duration of this course is taught in the afternoon and with which enrollees have the opportunity to learn the various areas in which volunteering takes place, such as children, women at risk or immigrants.

It also includes a practical module, students participating in the campaign to collect toys for Christmas, organized by the city of Cartagena.
