Ayman Zaineldine: "It is not forbidden, but not a good idea to participate in the demonstrations" (11/11/2013)

The Egyptian ambassador to Spain, Ayman Zaineldine has analyzed this morning at the II Forum Middle East Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT) the "huge transition" in his country, a process that has allowed complicated.

Zaineldine, who heads the Egyptian Embassy in Spain since 2010 and already participated in 2011 in the first edition of the Middle East Forum organized by the UPCT, said that his country tries to "learn from successful transitions as that of Spain" and said that the new constitution will be voted on in a referendum next month and there will be democratic elections before mid-2014, where you can participate "any Egyptian seamlessly with the law."

The diplomat explained that the crisis that led to last summer's coup and the arrest of President-elect Mohamed Mursi originated in constitution drafted by the Muslim Brotherhood and has stated that the new constitution of the country "will be above the Sharia , religion will have a similar weight before the Revolution and meet all international standards of rights, freedoms and separation of powers. "

Regarding Mursi trial to be held in January, Zaineldine has held that "the court is independent".

The ambassador defended his country's security for tourists, whose numbers have fallen 35% since the start of the Revolution.

"Not a single tourist has been attacked, no one has been hurt by politics," he said before admitting that for foreigners "is not a good idea to participate in demonstrations, though it is forbidden."

The diplomat has acknowledged that it is too early to qualify for the situation the country peaceful, but explained that "protests are now less violent".

But noted that "each country goes its own way", Zaineldine is confident that "the Arab world will change profoundly" and denied that the Arab Spring was a mistake.
