The City will subsidize up to ten thousand euros opening or reform in the historic local (18/10/2013)

Cartagena City Council grant aid of up to 40 percent of the investment, with a ceiling of 10,000 euros, opening projects or commercial low-comprehensive reform focused on leisure or tourism in certain areas of the city center to encourage their economic revitalization.

The measure cover five squares and 19 streets around the Plaza de San Francisco, Laughing, Lake, San Ginés and the Hospital, and to what will go some 200,000 euros in 2014.

The measure was approved this morning by the Local Government, in Plan for Investment in the Old Town.

After the meeting, the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, met with the President of Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena and Shire (COEC), Pedro Pablo Hernández, and vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, José María Fernández, to quinenes them explained the details of the plan and has sought support for municipal initiative.

The incentives will be heading in two lines: grant taxes and fees and refundable grants.

So the tax will subsidize Building and Works (ICICI), rates of licenses to open and work, and the rate of terraces up to 90% for hospitality businesses in the first year of operation, and will help to fund lost the equivalent of 40% of the investment up to a maximum of 10,000 euros.

These grants are aimed at those who want to open a business, modernize already existing comprehensive reform or by performing civil work, always shop space.

This aid package will be in effect for the years 2014 and 2015.

It affects 5 to 19 streets and squares of the Old Town, such as the p laza and San Francisco Street, Honda, San Vicente, Caballero, Four Saints, Arch of Charity, Duke, Palas, San Antonio el Pobre, Plaza de San Gines street Ignacio Garcia, Balcones Blue, Laughing square, Gisbert Street, Square Hospital, Don Matías street, street and square Don Roque Lake.

The mayor has said that it wants to promote the opening of new businesses related to tourism, leisure, hospitality, new activities that contribute to social and tourist drive around that environment.

To facilitate the process to stakeholders will have an office in the Local Development Agency and Employment where to go and collect all the information, and submit applications after the announcement made ​​through BORM.

A commission composed of municipal technicians will evaluate the projects and grant subsidy especially valuing the impact they can have two foster attraction, social and leisure activities in the area.

For instance, an investment of 60,000 euros on a new catering business would receive the following support package:

- 10,000 euros repayable euro-2.000-1.000 would ICIO euros of building permit fees and opening-1.200 of the terrace license fee the first year.

In total 14,200 euros, or 23 percent of the investment is financed by the City Council in this case.
