While unemployment has risen in 27 people in the month of August, in that month were also recorded more than 1,391 contracts in the same period of 2012, according to the Councillor for Employment, who emphasized that the trend is confirmed slowdown in job destruction that has been experienced in Cartagena since early this year

From January to August a total of 1,473 people have achieved a position of employment in Cartagena, confirming a trend of slowdown in job destruction that has been experienced in the port city since early this year as unveiled this morning Councillor for Employment, Diego Ortega.

Regarding the particular month of August, according to the latest unemployment data, unemployment rose in Cartagena on 27 people, equivalent to 0.12%.

While August is a month traditionally wrong with the closing of the summer season, to paraphrase Ortega, this rise is one of the lowest in the Region of Murcia, Cartagena also becoming in the township of over 50,000 inhabitants in the least unemployment has risen.

During his meeting with the media, the Councillor for Employment also has emphasized three positive data for the city.

Thus, along with the decline in youth unemployment in 60 people over the month of July, in August have also been recorded more than 1,391 contracts in the same period of 2012. And third figure: 963 people have found work in the service sector in the period between May and August.

To begin to create jobs, we must generate economic enrichment, Ortega stressed at the end of his speech, but not before remembering that although the City of Cartagena no competence in employment, it does work on the adoption of measures that contribute to generate new jobs in the city.

As incentive measures include administrative simplification when starting a business, self aid and entrepreneurs who hire unemployed and renewal of Portal Placement Agency, as well as collaboration with Primark for recruitment being performed at the Youth Center and Quarrying Jobs.
