Municipal corporation Condolences to the family of Cartagena marriage died in Santiago (26/07/2013)

The Mayor, on behalf of the City Council and the city has moved condolences to the children of the deceased, while flags municipal buildings will fly at half mast during the three days of official mourning declared by the government

The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, this morning sent condolences and the condolences of the municipal corporation and the city, to the families of the victims of the train crash on Wednesday in Santiago de Compostela, including a married couple traveling Cartagena on the train, and as was observed throughout the day yesterday, were among those killed.

We have moved our condolences to the children and other relatives of the deceased, and have also contacted the president of the Xunta de Galicia and to be at your disposal in everything they need, said the mayor, who has shown his regret at a time very sad and difficult because of the number of fatalities that have occurred as they are still in a very serious situation, to whom we wish a speedy recovery.

On the occasion of this tragic event, the flags of the municipal buildings remain at half mast for three days of official mourning declared by the government of Spain.

This initiative also adds the Captaincy General of Cartagena, which yesterday suspended the solemn lowering ceremony held on the last Thursday of each month.
