The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, accompanied by the Minister of Universities, Business and Research, José Ballesta, and the rector of the UPCT, Jose Antonio Franco Leemhuis, was responsible for inaugurating the conference, attended by researchers and companies, experts all, from more than 20 countries, including USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, China, Japan, Taiwan and India.
According to the mayor, as of now, congresses at the Municipal Auditorium will be commonplace, since precisely one of the objectives raised El Batel since opening is to influence congress tourism.
Thus, during his speech, Pilar Barreiro has emphasized that the conference attendees, who will be four days in the city, and work may also visit the main tourist attractions, cultural and architectural Cartagena, as the Roman Theatre or ARQUA.
