The semi-finals, between strings and brass, start on Monday 11 March with Woodwinds mode.
The competition, which is organized by the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena and Cartagena Conservatory of Music, is celebrating its sixteenth edition.
From next week, the 156 young participants show the public and the jury her acting abilities in the modalities of brass, percussion, strings, voice, woodwinds, piano and guitar.
The contest consists of two phases: a playoff and final, the first taking place during the month of March and end in April, in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena. Semifinals start giving in the form of V ent Wood and Rope at 16:30, Brass and Piano and Guitar 17:00 to 18:00. Finals, from April 8, depending on the mode, between 18:00 and 19:00 hours.
Participants will perform two classical pieces and free choice of different styles. Admission to the concert is free to fill seats.
As for the prizes, shall be allocated 7,700 euros. The first prize in each category is 750 euros and the second of 350 ¿.
In addition, the jury may consider granting a Special Mention Young value within each of the modalities, younger students, under 15, who have not won a prize, recognizing and performing quality work and .
The awards ceremony and the closing concert will be held on May 3 at the Auditorium and Convention Centre, the Tender, the place where they will announce the jury's verdict on each of the modalities.
Awards In solo act, Elias Romero Clares (Percussion), accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.'s Music Conservatory Orchestra Cartagena is responsible for closing the act.
