The mayor, Pilar Barreiro, met today with the Deputy Commissioner of Police of New York, Rafael Pineiro, who during the day today is visiting Cartagena, after attending yesterday at the Catholic University of Murcia in the Third Edition of the Master Officer Safety Science and Criminology.
After meeting with the mayor, Pineiro, who has organized his schedule today for sightseeing in Cartagena, said that the police department which is number two, always open to collaborating and working with public security departments of other countries, would include future collaborations with our city.
Moreover, the number two of the NYPD has defended the use of technologies for citizen oversight, as is the case of cameras in public places, a widespread practice in the United States and in Spain.
