The mayor offers collaboration to promote the Mercedes Treasury (10/12/2012)

The mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has offered the assistance of the city in recovery and external promotion of the Mercedes Treasury.

The mayor held a meeting this morning with the director of the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (ARQUA), Xabier Nieto.

According to Barreiro said the exit, it was the first formal meeting held after the decision of the Ministry of Culture in order to ARQUA restoration and permanent exhibition of the treasure.

The mayor has said that the two institutions will work together to promote the city and treasure.

In fact, the City plans to begin including the treasure from his usual targets promotion in other regions, as it has done with the Roman Theatre and the Forum.

The first pieces, in a few months

Meanwhile ARQUA director, Xavier Nieto, has expressed its willingness to show society as soon as possible the diversity and uniqueness of the treasure, but may not be a few months before.
