Mobility Space Cartagena in Murcia promotes the European Voluntary Service. DG Gender Violence, Youth, and Reform Legal Protection of Children has organized an information day for all municipalities in the region are aware of the Youth in Action Programme and the European Voluntary Service (EVS).
Youth in Action (JEA) is a European Union program created especially for young people.
The goal is to inspire a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union's future.
This program promotes mobility within and beyond the EU borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue and promotes employability and inclusion of any young person, regardless of their educational, social and cultural development to proceed.
The European Voluntary Service enables young people make a voluntary service for up to 12 months in a country other than their country of residence.
The program also fosters solidarity among young people and is a service learning with which volunteers learn new skills and languages, and discover other cultures.
Since 2003 the Youth Space volunteers sent off Cartagena and from the year 2004/2005 acts as host organization of volunteers.
