Unemployment in Cartagena down to levels last December (03/07/2012)

The number of unemployed has fallen in Cartagena in 641 people in June, representing a decrease of 2.82% from May, as reported by the Councillor for Employment and New Technologies, Diego Ortega.

This decline has been greater than that recorded in Spain (2.10%) and Region (1.79%).

It is also the third consecutive month of decline in unemployment since April as the number of unemployed has decreased by 893 people, so that the numbers of applicants in Cartagena has fallen to levels last December.

Councilman remember these figures must be analyzed with caution, knowing that there is a seasonal phenomenon, but the truth is that we can trust, like a summer little better, because the data is good in itself and compared to last year.

Ortega points out that the decline in unemployment is much higher than in June last year, in which the descent was 370 persons, 1.9%.

The number of new contracts was also lower in June 2011.

He signed a total of 62,137 contracts in the Region of Murcia, which is 5,645 more contracts compared to June of 2011 and 2105 more than the contract last July.
