The Young Reader Prize Mandarache Cartagena has a panel of 1,500 young readers between 15 and 30 years, and the Youth Literature Prize Hache is voted by 1 .200 adolescents between 12 and 14 years of age.

These hundreds of readers have read the books and finalists of both prizes from Monday 16 April, are voting for their favorite via the official website of this project to train readers www.premiomandarache.es that the City of Cartagena has implemented since 2004.

On Thursday 19 April at 20h the voting period ends.

On Monday 23 April, World Book Day, will unveil the winners when the press and will be a representation of these young readers in charge of it.

The Mandarache has had a finalist this year exception, throughout the school year have visited Cartagena to introduce readers to the works nominated for the award.

This is Carlos Salem with his novel But I'm still the king (Page Break, 2009), Juan Bonilla for his book of stories So many people only (Seix Barral, 2009; Booket, 2011) and Isaac Rosa for his novel The country's Fear (Seix Barral, 2008; Booket, 2009).

Award Hache, on the other hand, is played by the writer Begoña Golden Grapefruit and lemon (SM 2011), Marisol Ortiz de Zárate by Shao Li's song (Bamboo Publishing, 2009) and The Wings of Leonardo (Ibaizabal, 2008 ; Edelvives, 2010) by Fernando Morillo.

Both awards have a prize of 3,000 euros respectively and a reproduction of a sculpture by à ngel Haro, and will be delivered in person by the mayor of Cartagena to the writers who win in a ceremony designed by the stage director Nieves Pérez Abad, in which the finalists will present the next edition.

In addition to the Prize and the Prize Mandarache Hache (a winning authors), there are six additional awards to eligible youth enrolled and departments of education or educational entities.
