What to do in an earthquake, how to bring the school bag and what route to follow to go to school are some of the keys that will learn from March 5th students of primary schools in the municipality.

The Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, Thomas Fuentes Perez and manager of security engineering and SICO, Juan Carlos Conesa Simon, presented this morning the campaign grows to Security inform and warn the students of the risks of their environment.

The staff of the SICO company with technicians of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health taught a small information sessions for children to be aware of the hazards in school, at home and on the journey from home to school such as falls, burns, contact with toxic chemicals, fire or airway obstruction.

About 1,800 schools in Cartagena will benefit from this initiative has been running for seven years in various municipalities in the region.

This time, the image of the campaign is the Gil Lopez family and his pet cat Prevenix. We realize that an essential aspect of training and learning of children are their families, explained Thomas Perez.

The main cause of the protagonists of this year's campaign is a family and not a bunch of friends, as was customary in previous years is that, according to the director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, after talks children do this with their parents and they reflect on the risks.

To facilitate learning using comics in which the student must identify the dangers that surround him in his daily life, as well as CDs in which learn by playing.

The campaign has a website where you can see the activities they are doing and where they hang, as in social networking safety tips.

LOW RATE OF LOSS

The result of this campaign is very positive, in the words of Thomas Perez.

And is that the Region of Murcia is one of the Autonomous Communities with the lowest accident rate.

For every thousand inhabitants there were only 34 workers injured in 2011. While in previous years, the fatality rate was about 100 workers per thousand.

Do not rely, our goal is to go the extra mile to ensure that no worker has an accident at work, recalled the director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
