The VIII Chess Tournament Intercentros IES Los Molinos, gathering Wednesday tore most of the institutes of the region of Cartagena, including Isaac Peral IES, IES Jiménez de la Espada, IES Mediterranean, and so on. As well as several Primary Schools, such as José María Lapuerta.
The objective of this event, which has now reached its eighth edition, is to promote the sport of chess among young students, creating a very positive according to the experience in previous years.
The tournament, which
held in the mornings during school hours, and has the support of the IDEAS program of the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena, is configured into two categories, Category I, which includes third cycle of primary and lower secondary school with 32 participants, and Category II, with 44 participants of the Second Cycle of Secondary and High School.
The competition ends on Thursday 9 February at 12.30 am with the awards ceremony to be attended by the councilors of Youth, Ruth Collado, and Education, Josefa Maroto.
