End the campaign to control taxis (11/11/2011)

Local police concluded the extraordinary campaign control taxis in the municipality of Cartagena, in order to verify, among other things, they have the necessary documentation and permits, display conveniently applicable rates and vehicles are clean, as established Municipal Regulation of the Taxi.

Between October 24 and November 6 were inspected 132 of the 250 existing taxis in the town, finding irregularities in two of them.

Specifically: one for failing to file the wage card and another, by changing the vehicle without first statement.

As pointed out by Councillor for Infrastructure and Transport, Francisco Espejo, these controls are set to the current regulations and are conducted on an annual or special to check the situation in which there is the taxi park in the city.

The officers have reviewed the different vehicles in taxi ranks in the city and morning shifts, afternoon and evening.

Other issues have been verified documentation of the vehicle and the driver, driver's license and insurance and permits.

Taxis must have the ceiling light identification license number, the meter working properly, the current rates and in a place visible to the client as well as regulatory and carry the extinguisher's book claims, among other provisions that marks the regulations.

Also inspected the interior and exterior of the taxi to ensure the safety of customers and check the status of cleaning.

In early 2012, is scheduled to take place the annual campaign review of taxis that will take place as in previous years on the premises of Park Security.
