About thirty boats will contest the Open Coastal Trolling Cartagena (18/10/2011)

Councillor for Tourism, Palazón Carolina, with the president of the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena, Celdrán Michelangelo, and the fishing club vocal, Jose Luis Morenilla have today released details of the Open Championship in Spain Coastal Trolling Cartagena 2011, to be held for the first time in our city from 28 to 30 October.

To participate in this event, organized by the Club de Regatas with the cooperation of the City, there are 10 boats entered and about 30 pre-registered, up to October 21 period will remain open, which is expected around hundred people, from Murcia, Alicante and Almeria, mainly involved in the Championship.

The trolling is a fishing method consisting in dragging a lure catches and the boat moving at all times, you can only stop to make the catch.

The distance limitation of fishing is up to 12 miles offshore and is not used artificial bait.

The score is on catch weight and includes all species within the sizing is always permitted, except those protected, such as bluefin tuna and swordfish.

The championship delivers three prizes and a trophy piece heavier.

According to Jose Luis Morenilla in Cartagena there is much enthusiasm for Trolling, there will be about 2,000 licenses, but fishing is a form of more expensive than others, such as sugarcane, as it requires more resources, and therefore, the crisis also note in this sector.
