Four cruise and more than 6,000 visitors come to town this week (19/09/2011)

The port of Cartagena expects a busy week with the arrival of four cruise ships of major size and capacity that will bring the city a total of 6270 foreign tourists.

The first stop was this morning with the arrival of Island Escape with 1,550 passengers on board, mostly British, a market operated by the shipping Island Thomson Cruises.

The tourists have landed in the early hours and were received as usual at the foot of ladder for the Tourist Information Point, the City of Cartagena is ready to inform visitors of the main sights of the city.

Visitors do not hesitate to walk through the streets of downtown taking advantage of the breeze and mild temperatures this morning, sitting on the terraces and visit major attractions such as the Roman Theatre and the Palace Hall.

However, higher-capacity vessels will be the Celebrity Eclipse in traveling about 3,000 passengers and will arrive on Saturday September 24.

Taking advantage of the holiday Carthaginians and Romans, arriving cruise aboard the Celebrity Eclipse on Saturday will soak up the history of Cartagena by a small exhibition in the port provided by the troops and legions to welcome cruise passengers.

In addition, those traveling on a bus tour of Puerto de Culturas can go directly into the camp festive day and tour the facility to meet fully the holidays.
