Decrease youth unemployment a 3.63 per cent in Cartagena in the last month (03/08/2011)

The Regional Center for Statistics Murcia and the State Public Employment Services have released the unemployment figures for the month of July, which show a decrease in the number of unemployed youth in Cartagena in that month , from 4381 to 4222 in June in July, 3.63 percent less, a trend that has been repeated in the last four months compared to July 2010, the number of young unemployed amounted to 4498.

The total of unemployed in Cartagena in July has decreased in 131 (0.71%) located at 18 277, while in the Murcia region has increased by 233 people (0.18% increase) rising to 130 260.

The total number of unemployed in Spain in June has decreased 1.02 percent.

In annual terms, the evolution of unemployment in Cartagena is also more favorable regional and national averages.

As from July 2010 unemployment rose 3.26% in Cartagena, the regional figures represent an increase of 4.73% and 4.38% national rose.

Councilman Job, Diego Ortega, recalled that the national crisis continues to prevent Cartagena grow with the strength that is capable, but stressed that unemployment figures remain below the beginning of the year and that the role of service sector is still key to this happening.

While unemployment has fallen in Cartagena in January by 3.17%, the decline in the service sector has exceeded 7%.

Responsible for Employment considers that it is a trend that confirms the bet municipal tourism, and believe that work should continue to translate into jobs large investments in recent years.
