End of final year Senior Computer (27/06/2011)

Computer Course for Seniors Level III came to an end on Wednesday June 22, with a closing ceremony of the twenty-five students, attended the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon.

This action terminated the computer courses at various levels for more of our municipality organized by the Municipal Social Services City of Cartagena.

In total, 150 seniors have participated in the six computer classes that have been made ​​since last April, every Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 am in the computer room of the building of the Miraculous 1st floor.

There, older people have improved or expanded their knowledge of computers, Internet and advanced programs such as Word, Photoshop and Starting Access.

The courses have been programmed at different levels: Introduction to Computer Science, Computer Support, Basic Level I, II and III, getting closer to our major new technologies.

The support and induction courses have been conducted through the Municipal Volunteer Program within the program Combinat, a project volunteer to accompany elderly.

The objectives pursued in the Major Program of the City of Cartagena through the different courses are: To promote the active participation of older people by offering courses that occupy their leisure time creatively and orderly develop their skills personal, social and fostering cultural exchange, to prevent situations of isolation and loneliness, improve their quality of life, creating opportunities for participation and socio-cultural activities appropriate to their demands and needs, encouraging an active, physical, mental and social older people.
