Ends a new course of higher energy gymnastics (26/05/2011)

The next day ended May 30 during Energy Gymnastics for the Elderly, organized by the Municipal Social Services City of Cartagena, a training that comes on a monthly basis since January.

Fifty seniors have completed the Department of Energy Fitness, between April 6 and May 30, Monday and Wednesday in two shifts of 25 people each, the first from 10.00 to 11.00 hours, and 11 seconds , 00 to 12.00 hours.

In the classrooms of the Youth House Paseo de Alfonso XIII, basically trying to teach relaxation techniques, yoga, tai-chi.

Classes are divided into two groups of 25 each distributed according to the needs of the elderly, and by half an hour of gymnastics with music that can include non-aerobic step exercises and even weights for strengthening muscles after gymnastics do another half hour of relaxation techniques of yoga or tai-chi which aims to alleviate back problems, muscle or bones that come with age.

The two hours of exercise a week are not used just to keep fit but also healthy recommendation for the benefit of some diseases such as arthritis or back problems, and even with the participation of a person affected by fibromyalgia.

This course is aimed at prevention and maintenance of health through exercise.

It also promotes social contacts, it makes people feel more active and have greater ability to perform daily living activities.

These older courses organized by the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena are in high demand and bound, in many cases being even a waiting list.

The most popular are computer memory and gymnastics training energy among others.
