The bank collected 2,350 copies of books for this course (24/02/2011)

The Department of Education reports that City of Cartagena Collection Campaign Used Textbooks, undertaken for the 2010/2011 school year from the Municipal Truancy Program has been closed to the donation of 2,350 textbooks that have passed Book Bank for cataloging.

Of them, have rejected a total of 1,222 specimens (52%), not to be in good condition or not correspond to current editions.

Of the total applications received in the Bank of Books, to deliver 477 (69% of the 1,128 valid) to nine secondary schools, eleven primary schools, four aided schools, Social Services City of Cartagena, Program Family Care Regional Assembly Red Cross, under the IES Classroom Occupational Mediterranean, UNED and Rehabilitation Center, Speech and psychomotor activity of the Department of Education.

The remaining books in the background remain deposited in the Bank of the Department of Education to address other possible applications for schools.

It should be noted that the textbooks used, both received at the Bank of donated books as schools belong to all levels of Primary and Secondary Education, and currently there are 4,018 volumes in storage.

The Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, has expressed its appreciation to all who have worked with this campaign, making a united effort for the benefit of students with limited economic resources of our municipality, the performance of a year the objective of this campaign, is to encourage citizens to solidarity with others and promote the reuse of books, teaching children to respect and care for their textbooks, since they sell to others when no longer needed.
