ASPERMUR showed the reality of Asperger's International Day of the syndrome (21/02/2011)

Technical School of Telecommunication Engineering on Friday hosted a roundtable in which various experts presented to the public that filled the room, his theories on this pervasive developmental disorder

Asperger Association Murcia (ASPERMUR) held in Cartagena on Friday the International Day of Asperger Syndrome, coinciding with the anniversary of the birth of Hans Asperger, Austrian pediatrician and psychiatrist who in 1944 identified a personality disorder in children, and still still being studied today in pedagogical and educational aspects.

The Graduate Hall of the School of Telecommunications Engineering (Building Antigones) Campus Universitario Muralla del Mar in Cartagena, was the setting for the celebration of this day, and was packed with people to attend the roundtable.

The event was presented by President of the Association, M ª Angeles Salgado Mena, and opened by the Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto Gómez, who had words of praise for parents and educators, valuing the collective task of all members of the community educational support and assistance to school disorder.

Then Fuensanta Balance Blecua, Bachelor of Education, Professor of Community Services and former member of Team Specific Pervasive Developmental Disorders from the Ministry of Education of the Region of Murcia, offered a broad perspective of resources and support offered management in his paper on socio resources for families with Asperger Syndrome.

For its part, Michelangelo Solano Escobar, Professor Therapeutic Education Specialist and currently Counselor at the Team Specific Pervasive Developmental Disorders from the Ministry of Education of the Region of Murcia, with his speech drew a picture of hope and promise for all parents and professionals who packed the room Degrees.

The remaining interventions were carried out by Paloma Fernandez, a mother of a boy diagnosed with Asperger, who told of this and the questions regarding education to these children in their day to day, Sergio Moreno, a 18 year old diagnosed as well, which recounted his experience of life and barriers and supports found, and a number of parents and stakeholders who raised doubts and questions to the speakers.

The day ended with the thanks of the City of Cartagena ASPERMUR by the room to give them just in the city and will serve as a meeting place and venue of future initiatives to make to members and nonmembers.
