Councillor of Education has held this award given by the Ministry of Education in recognition of the actions of this educational establishment in Los Mateos, to offset inequalities between students

The Ministry of Education and Science has awarded the CEIP Aníbal del barrio de Los Mateos 2010 National First Prize in recognition of the quality of the work of the public schools to compensate for inequalities in education of their students, which has managed to facilitate quality education for all and for all.

Both the educational community and the various associations and groups that provide services in the district have proved happy with this award, the grant also appreciate the continued support from the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena. As responsible, Josefa Maroto has also expressed appreciation for this recognition.

Thus, the MEC recognizes and rewards for quality and effort to the various measures implemented in the CEIP Hannibal to ensure the principles of attention to diversity, standardization and inclusion, understanding, thereby ensuring the development of all, it promotes equity and contributing to greater social cohesion.

For this purpose, the school has renewed methodologies (through cooperative learning, interactive groups, project work), strengthening ICT in teaching-learning process, actively participating in the revitalization of the neighborhood, combining the efforts of all associations and groups involved in the operation of the school, promoting family involvement in classrooms and at school, and promoting prosocial skills within the classroom.

This now serves as state recognition to spur further work in this area of Cartagena, and not only to improve the quality of teaching, but also to ensure a school and a neighborhood healthy in every way.
